Founded in 1952, Achill Golf Course is a challenging 9 hole Links set in the flat sandybanks just outside the village of Keel Achill Island. The course regulary hosts Stableford competitions and will play host to the Achill Rovers Golf Classic on the June Bank Holiday weekend.
For those wishing to stay longer in Achill area, Achill Golf Club would be happy to provide daily and weekly green fees as well as club and cart hire.

Local Rules
Out of Bounds: Outside all white stakes
Lateral Water Hazards: All Staked drains Rule 26 1 (C)
Lift Clean & Drop: Is allowed on all fairways i.e. inside the white stones as per. Rule 20 2 (B) within one club length not nearer the hole.
Outside the white stones: A ball must be played as it lies, except as allowed by the rules of golf. PLeae also note rule on "embedded ball" below.
Immovable Obstructions: ( Rule 24 2 ) Hard surface paths, seats and bins relief.
Fencing: Two club lengths relief if posts or wire impede swing. Ball striking posts or wire on approach to green being played may be replayed without penalty.
Ball embedded in its own Pitch Mark: " Through the green, a ball that is embedded in its own Pitch Mark in the ground, other than sand, may be lifted without penalty, cleaned and dropped as near as possible to where it lay but not nearer the hole. The ball when dropped, must first strike a part of the course "through the green".
Exception to this rule: A player may not obtain relief under the Local Rule if it is clearly unreasonable to him to make a stroke because of interference by anything other than the conditions covered by this Local Rule.
Players should check notice board for any changes or additions to Local Rules. Achill Golf Club commitee's interpretation of Local Rules shall be final.
